Since we’re all staying home with our lovely pets, here are five of my favorite pets. From, y’know, the Mortal Realms. It’s Age of Sigmar baybee!

In a world of constant warfare, marauding bands of crazy barbarians, and the wandering dead, sometimes you need a tiny companion to keep you from going insane. Several warriors take this as far as to bring their little buddies to the battlefield, and they make for excellent tiny warriors. Here’s a list of my 5 favorite animal companions in Age of Sigmar, in no particular order.

Flesh Hound

The goodest bois in all of Khorne’s Realm, Flesh Hounds are violent hunters that harry their chosen prey endlessly. As such, they make perfect companions for the warmongering Lords of Khorne, and they add a hefty bite and the ability to unravel spells to their master’s arsenal. These big red lizard dogs are definitely some of the best companions a giant raging chaos warlord can have.

Gryph-Hound

I must admit, I am especially partial to these bird doggos, and the loyalty they are written as having for their masters. They are noble beasts, combining the best parts of their two halves, and a pretty good profile when near one of their chosen companions. They are great scouts, great defenders, and all around good boys.

Rakerdart

When the Idoneth Deepkin go to battle, they bring the weird fish creatures of the ethereal ocean with them, and the Isharann bring personal fishy companions. The Rakerdart, the partner of the Soulrender, is my personal favorite, representing a tiny shark swordfish hybrid that hunts down souls for its master to harvest. They augment the serrated scythes of their master with a face blade of their own, and make quick work of any enemies that threaten their master.

Star-Eagle

Accompanying the Knight-Venator to battle, a Star-Eagle is the long ranging eyes of the flying archer heroes of the Stormcast. They can turn themselves into bolts of pure energy to take out their master’s foes, and offer a bit of extra punch to their longbow. Also, they just look awesome weaving around their angelic partner, so that’s a bonus point for them.

Rocktusk Prowler

In the Eightpoints, you want to snag every advantage you can to get ahead, and if that means bringing a ticked off lion with ram’s horns along, that’s what you do. That is exactly the mindset of the Untamed Beasts with their big kitty, the Rocktusk Prowler, which they can combo with their Beastmaster into a terrifying fighting unit. These things are not to be trifled with, so it takes some real confidence to bring one along with you.

What are your favorite beasts of the Mortal Realms?
