Sorry if the title feels a little wooden, it’s just that Blood Bowl will be getting a Treeman soon, and we’re excited to see the game branch out.

Another reveal from the GW preview, this time we’re looking at what’s new for Bloodbowl, and as you might have guessed from the title and all the puns, it’s a Treeman. Available as a “defensive replacement” that’s sure to keep your End Zone safe, and even featuring a fun new friend, the new Treeman kit looks amazing. Here it is!

Treemen in Blood Bowl aren’t so much players as defensive emplacements. In a Wood Elf team, they’re a vital strongpoint, helping to shore up your team’s shortcomings by punching them incredibly hard. For Halflings – whose shortcomings are perhaps too substantial for a whole team of Treemen to overcome – you can throw any underperforming players directly into the End Zone, should the occasion call for it. A multitude of build options for this plastic kit allow you to customise your Treeman (or Treemen!), and it even includes the Blood Bowl debut of a fan-favourite character – Akhorne the Squirrel!

As you can see the kit comes with a bit of variety–I love that they’ve gone away from a riff on the Ents, and have instead made something a little more cartoony, but still believable inasmuch as a giant sentient Blood Bowl playing tree is “believable.” Also check out Akhorne!

What do you think of the new kit? Will you be getting a squirrel (and accompanying tree) for your own team? Let us know in the comments, and good luck!
