Games Workshop’s webstore is slowing coming back online and safety is a key priority.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, GW put a halt to their business. The shops closed up, manufacturing hit the pause button, and the webstore stop taking orders. While we still aren’t out of the woods yet, GW is going to ramp back-up – safely and slowly. They brought back Andy Smillie to talk shop and the steps they are making to re-open. Plus a little support for the FLGSs that have been hit hard as well.
Currently the list of countries that will have the webstore reopened is limited to mostly European countries:
You can get more information about the safety steps as well what to expect for GW employees who will be working in the warehouses HERE.
With these changes and the impact that the pandemic has had on the physical stores, GW is still limited things. On the bright side, they are making some Free Shipping changes. But keep in mind that things might take longer to ship:
Also, don’t expect a wave of new releases to come out rapid fire. Things are going to take more time to ramp-up.
One other really cool thing that GW is doing for the Independent retailers out there is a offering a very special edition Catachan Colonel for the FLGSs out there.
Not only is this a great gesture – it’s also a really cool model!
I don’t even play Astra Militarum, but I kind of want this model – it will help out my FLGSs and it’s a unique sculpt, too.
This is all good news on the hobby front and some local stores are slowly coming back online. You can always check their Store Finder to see if your closest store is up. But do remember their safety guidelines and call ahead to see if they have what you need in stock first.
Mark your calendars – May 1st is coming this weekend! And wash your hands!!!!
