The reinforcements for the Adeptus Mechanicus are coming in Engine War and they will have a very impressive range of miniatures and rules.

It sure feels like it’s been a long time since the Adeptus Mechancius were slated from a new batch of miniatures. The new flyer was teased back in November of last year – which means we’ve actually been waiting for about 6 months for this model. Part of the delay has been the global issues which kinda of put a damper of releases. The point is we’ve all been waiting a while and the new units along with the rest of the releases are coming (quarantine permitting).

The first reveal was from Open Day 2019 – why does that feel like soooo long ago?

It’s not just the new Archaeopter (which can be one of three different options – the Transvector, the Fusilave, and the Stratoraptor). We’re also getting the new Pteraxii Units and the Serberys units, too. And today, Games Workshop is showing off some of their rules.

These new Flying/Jump troopers are going to pump out the shots with enough Dakka to make Orks jealous. Check out the new Flechette Carbine’s profile:

It doesn’t pack much of a punch at strength 3 but it’s going to have volume. This weapon will be used by the Pteraxii Skystalkers, but the models above (Pteraxii Sterylizors) will use the new Phosphor Torch:

Yep – you’re reading that range correctly. They are also going to be able drop in and burniate their targets directly from reserve. That’s a spicy meatball! Both of these units will also have a trick or two up their sleeves (or pant legs in this case) with the Melee attacks:

The new Serberys units also have some mean tricks. Their Sluphurhound’s Sulphur Breath is pretty bad for your health:

As for the Serberys Raiders – they are getting access to some deadly firepower with the Archeo-Revolver:

It’s only the Alpha that gets access, but that’s a gun worth passing down.

Reinforcements Inbound

While it might look like just 3 new boxes of units, between them they will increase the Ad Mech line up with a total of 7 new units. The Ad Mech has 22 units (if you count all the Knight Variants included in their codex) so 7 new units is a nice boost for their range. These options will certainly help fill some of the gaps in their options.

There is still some room to grow within the Ad Mech design. That Pulp-era inspired Retro-Future look from the Sci-Fi of the 1950’s has a lot of room to explore. I’m excited that the release of these models is coming soon and I’m looking forward to whatever Games Workshop has next for the Adeptus Mechanicus!

Why does it feel like so much longer? What even is time anymore?
