Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire – $90

The mining world of Taros is embroiled in a bitter, grinding war between the forces of the opportunistic T’au Empire and the jealous and vengeful Imperium of Man. While armies march across the surface of the embattled planet below, the skies are filled with aircraft locked in the dance of deadly dog fights. Will the T’au Air Caste declare air superiority, or will the dogged defense of the Imperial Navy prevail?

Aeronautica Imperialis is a fast-paced game of aerial battles in the 41st Millennium. Skies of Fire contains everything you need to start playing right away, including a combined Imperial Navy and Astra Militarum fleet, and a balanced force of T’au Air Caste aircraft. In addition to the models, you’ll get an Aeronautica Imperialis rulebook, dice, counters, a double-sided game mat, and reference guides to get you into the action right away.

Split Skies of Fire with a friend and play through the narrative Scenarios, or add it to your existing collection to discover new tactical options. The Imperial Navy and Astra Militarum aircraft can be combined with all the existing Imperial Navy kits, including the contents of the Wings of Vengeance boxed set, so even established players will want to grab this box.

The set includes the following Citadel multipart plastic miniatures, each supplied with an Aeronautica Imperialis base and a ball socket stem:

– 3 T’au Air Caste Barracudas AX-5-2 (can be assembled as AX-5-3 or AX-5-4)

The set also includes a 36-page rulebook featuring the following information:

Aeronautica Imperialis: Taros Air War Campaign Book – $35

Taros was an unassuming mining world nestled in the Ultima Segmentum, faithfully toiling in the service of the Imperium of Man for thousands of years… or so it seemed. The T’au Empire quietly began trading with the planetary governor – when this treachery was discovered, the Imperium’s response was relentless and brutal.

This beautiful 96-page hardback campaign book includes the following (plus loads more):

– A matt-finish cover with gloss spot finish highlights, plus a ribbon bookmark in drab green.
– The full Aeronautica Imperialis game rules, including how to build your force using Squadron Lists, perform Ace Manoeuvres, field different classes of aircraft and unleash ground defences. Learn how to manoeuvre your aircraft, adjust their altitude and change speed while avoiding the risks of crashing and breaking up (if you exceed your maximum speed). There are even rules for special manoeuvres including landing, taxiing, and taking-off.
– In-depth background on the war to retake Taros from established T’au Empire armies, in particular the air war and daring low-altitude skirmishes.
– New rules for Flying at Low Altitude, Terrain Height, Collisions, Rolling Areas of Engagement, and Falling Behind.
– Five scenarios, including The Dogfight, The Chase, Subterranean Assault, Sky-Fortress Attack and Canyon Attack Run.
– Rules for campaign play, including how to replace destroyed aircraft and level up your pilots as they gain experience.
– Squadron Lists, providing details of the following aircraft, including their weapon options and special rules: Avenger Strike Fighter, Lightning Strike Fighter, Imperial Arvus Lighter, Valkyrie Assault Carrier, Vulture Gunship, Barracuda, Tiger Shark and Remora Drone.
– Rules for ground assets such as the Hydra Flak Battery, Basilisk Anti-Aircraft Emplacement, KV 126 Skyfire Platform and KV 129 Stormfury Platform.
– Rules for the following legendary ace pilots: Flight Commander Megana Ayce, Flight Lieutenant Dyce Vander, Kor’la Kae O’ar and Kor’la Dor’n O’ka – each including a profile of their aircraft and special rules.
– Example colour schemes of Imperial Navy, Astra Militarum and T’au Air Caste aircraft.
– A reference page showing the eight different manoeuvres aircraft can take, as well as a 2-page quick reference containing the key game rules.

Taros Area of Engagement Board – $42

The quiet mining world of Taros became the target of the T’au Empire’s Third Sphere Expansion, and the Imperium of Mankind vowed to take it back at any cost. As the world below erupted in violent action across numerous fronts, so too did the sky become filled with fire and devastation.

This Taros Area of Engagement is a fold-out game board for Aeronautica Imperialis that represents two of the key locations in the conflict between the Imperial Navy, Astra Militarum, and T’au Air Caste. Measuring 19 hexes by 18 hexes (or roughly 3’ by 3’), this game board is even bigger than the one found in the Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire boxed game.

The double-sided game board comes in two pieces and features artwork depicting the following aerial war zones:

– Side 1: The Furnace – the skies above a T’au Empire military outpost nestled in the mountains, including a space elevator
– Side 2: The Grand Reservoir – a vast subterranean water purification system, including tight confines for tense dogfights

You’ll need a copy of the Taros Air War Campaign book or the Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire boxed game to use this game board.

Tiger Shark AX 1-0 Fighter-Bombers – $42

Tiger Shark Fighter-bombers are tremendously versatile – essentially a modular flying platform capable of delivering a wide range of weapons to the right place, at the right time. The Tiger Shark AX-1-0 is similar to the other aircraft in the same class, but geared towards taking out the heaviest armour and war machines with an immense pair of heavy rail cannons.

First seen in the skies above Taros, these deadly long-range assassins came to be rightly feared by the Imperium’s war engine crews. In some cases, they’re armed instead with paired heavy plasma accelerators to unleash deadly fusillades of hot death at close range.

This box lets you build two deadly Tiger Shark AX-1-0 bombers. The primary armament of the AX-1-0 is a pair of heavy rail cannons, which can be traded out for heavy plasma accelerators. The AX-1-0 eschews transport capacity to mount these heavy weapons, prioritising combat effectiveness over versatility. Both variants are armed with missile pods built into their wings, and they include drone ports to add close- or mid-range support with cyclic ion blasters and long-barreled burst cannons.

Whilst ostensibly geared for ground targets, their weapons are no less effective against other aircraft – the long-range heavy rail cannons are quite capable of lancing all but the very toughest high-priority targets out of the skies. The heavy plasma accelerators spew a punishing volley of hot death at close range – as deadly in a strafing run as in a dogfight.

The set includes:

– 2 plastic T’au Air Caste Tiger Shark AX-1-0 miniatures, armed with either paired heavy rail cannons or paired heavy plasma accelerators
– 2 Aeronautica Imperialis bases, designating the model’s front, rear and side arcs as well as speed and altitude dials, and including a clear stand to connect the aircraft to each base
– 1 T’au Tiger Shark AX-1-0 transfer sheet

The rules for using these miniatures in games of Aeronautica Imperialis can be found in both Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire and the Taros Air War Campaign Book.

Aeronautica Imperialis: T’au Air Caste Barracuda Fighters – $42

Versatile Barracuda Fighters are the backbone of the T’au Air Caste. Their skilled pilots and sophisticated technology allow them to seize control of the skies with a versatile array of main weapons and support systems for every enemy and occasion.

Build six Barracudas with this box, armed with Swiftstrike railguns, burst cannons, ion cannons and missile pods. Add drones for all-around protection and extra firepower, plus Seeker missiles to pack an even harder punch. No matter how you kit them out, their impressive agility will help you achieve target locks while keeping them out of the line of the heaviest fire.

The set includes:

– 6 plastic T’au Air Caste Barracuda AX-5-2 miniatures (can also be built as AX-5-3 and AX-5-4 variants)
– 6 Aeronautica Imperialis bases (each base designates the model’s front, rear and side arcs, has speed and altitude dials, as well as a clear stand to connect the aircraft to the base)
– 1 T’au Aircraft transfer sheet

The rules for using these miniatures in games of Aeronautica Imperialis can be found in both Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire and the Taros Air War Campaign Book.

Aeronautica Imperialis: T’au Air Caste Tiger Shark Fighter-Bombers – $42

The T’au Air Caste utilises Tiger Shark Fighter-Bombers in a support role, raking ground targets with punishing strafing runs. Larger than the Barracudas and packing twice the firepower, woe betide the enemy aircraft that finds itself in target lock with these bruisers. Their transport capacity also allows them to secure ground targets after the smoke clears.

This box lets you build two Tiger Shark Fighter-Bombers. The standard AX-1-0-2 is armed with not one, but two Swiftstrike railguns, while the AX-1-0-3 variant trades them out for two Swiftstrike burst cannons and the AX-1-0-4 with paired ion cannons. All of them are armed with missile pods built into their wings, and they include drone ports to add close or mid-range support with cyclic ion blasters and long-barreled burst cannons. Add a Seeker missile bay to take out crucial targets.

The set includes:

– 2 plastic T’au Air Caste Tiger Shark AX-1-0-2 miniatures (can also be built as AX-1-0-3 and AX-1-0-4 variants)
– 2 Aeronautica Imperialis bases (each base designates the model’s front, rear and side arcs, has speed and altitude dials, as well as a clear stand to connect the aircraft to the base)
– 1 T’au Aircraft transfer sheet

The rules for using these miniatures in games of Aeronautica Imperialis can be found in both Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire and the Taros Air War Campaign Book.

T’au Air Caste Dice Set – $15

Show your dedication to the Greater Good with this set of T’au Air Caste dice. Each six-sided die features pearl-effect white marbling, with the marking picked out in a deep bluish purple.

The eight dice in this set each measure 16mm x 16mm and feature a T’au Air Caste icon on the 6 face. The dice are supplied in a clear plastic dice cube.

Aeronautica Imperialis: Valkyrie Assault Carriers – $42

Typically seconded to the Astra Militarum, Valkyrie Assault Carriers deliver troops directly to the front, hovering in place to provide fire support, before blasting off to take on enemy aircraft. Versatile weapon hard points allow them to be kitted out to take on a wide range of ground targets and aircraft.

This box allows you to build Valkyrie Assault Carriers armed with a lascannon or multi-laser, and Vendetta Assault Carriers armed with twin lascannons. Both of them can be loaded up with additional lascannons and rocket pods. The ability to hover, plus transport troops, makes them perfectly suited for scenarios in which you pick up or drop off soldiers, as well as engaging ground targets with strafing runs.

The set includes:

– 4 plastic Astra Militarum Valkyrie Assault Carrier miniatures (can also be built as Vendetta Assault Carriers)
– 4 Aeronautica Imperialis bases (each base designates the model’s front, rear and side arcs, has speed and altitude dials as well as a clear stand to connect the aircraft to the base)
– 1 Valkyrie Squadron transfer sheet

The rules for using these miniatures in games of Aeronautica Imperialis can be found in both Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire and the Taros Air War Campaign Book.

Aeronautica Imperialis: Imperial Navy Lightning Fighters – $42

When rapid interceptors are scrambled to support bomber squadrons or counter air raids, the fast and agile Lightning and Lightning Strike Fighters are first to the fight. Armed with powerful lascannons or multi-lasers, they excel at sending enemy aircraft spiraling to their dooms far below the area of engagement.

This kit allows you to build both Lightning Strike Fighters, packing twin multi-lasers, and Lightning Fighters, armed with deadly twin lascannons. Lightning Strike Fighters are best suited for dealing with swarms of light aircraft, while Lighting Fighters are ideal for tailing ponderous bombers and heavy fighters. Both of them operate best in squadrons, and this box gives you six! The kit also includes a selection of hellstrike missiles and skystrike missiles with which to upgrade your miniatures.

The set includes:

– 6 plastic Imperial Navy Lightning Strike Fighter miniatures (2 of which can be built as Lightning Fighters)
– 6 Aeronautica Imperialis bases (each of which designates the model’s front, rear and side arcs, speed and altitude dials, as well as a clear stand to connect the aircraft to the base)
– 1 Lightning Squadron transfer sheet

The rules for using these miniatures in games of Aeronautica Imperialis can be found in both Aeronautica Imperialis: Skies of Fire and the Taros Air War Campaign Book.
