Always unexpected. Here are the new rules for the Inquisition coming to us courtesy of Psychic Awakening: Pariah.

To kick things off for Pariah, Games Workshop is showing off some more rules today. We’re getting a look at the Inquisition and we’re going to start with the newest character Inquisitor to the game – Kyria Draxus! You might recognize her from the Psychic Awakening videos as she’s been in the background, but now we get a closer look at what she can do on the tabletop.

via Warhammer Community

“Kyria Draxus is a new HQ option for an Inquisition army. As an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos, she specialises in hunting and eradicating the Necron threat. While Draxus is pragmatic, she’s also considered a radical by her peers due to her use of alien weaponry and the fact that she is accompanied by a familiar, Shang, from the xenospecies known as Wyvachs.”

The Stats

Statline wise, Draxus has a profile akin to a Guardsmen character. The extra wounds are nice and she’s got a 2+ WS and 3+ BS. And if case you were wondering, she’s totally packing a fancy shuriken catapult of the Dire variety:

And like any good Inquisitor, she’s packing grenades. Which, of course she is. Anyone remember the days of the Rad Grenade scourge…While it’s not quite that rough, it might just buy the Inquisitor some time to get a killing blow in first.

Oh and what about her pet Shang? Well get ready for a better Smite, ya know, just because:

The Lord Inquisitor will be a great addition to any Inquisition Force – we’re just not 100% sure what that entails just yet.

There’s More Than One?!

Yes, actually. There are many branches of the Ordo Inquisition. And it’s not just the three you’re thinking of either.

Depending on which Ordo your Inquisition force belongs to, you can get a bonus against certain enemies. Ordo Malleus are experts at hunting Daemons, Ordo Hereticus gain a bonus against psykers, and Ordo Xenos are the galaxy’s finest alien hunters. But what if you’ve always wanted to play one of the smaller Ordos? Ordo Scriptorum or Ordo Chronos for example. Well, you can also declare your army to be from an Ordo Minoris and get the following benefit.

Furthermore, the Inquisition will also get a batch of their own Warlord Traits like Puritan:

On top of that they are also going to have access to the Telethesia discipline.

“This is a suite of powers known only to the Inquisition that allows them to manipulate and dominate their enemies. There are also specific powers for the three main Ordos. For example, the Daemonhunters can cast a Warding Incantation.”

Naturally after 8 previous books you’ve got to know what’s next, right? Relics and Stratagems of course! Inquisitorial Forces will get access to those, too.

You can expect more Relics for sure and as for the Stratagems…

These are just a couple of teases from the upcoming book. And if you’re wondering how you can build an army using them, well, just add in your favorite flavor of Imperium:

“All Inquisition forces can be added into an Imperium Detachment without other units losing their Detachment abilities. “

Boom.

So what do you think of the Inquisition? Are you going to be adding an Inquisitor to your army lists?

What a show!
