AoS: Aelf-a-palooza, What Does It Mean?

Here’s what I hope/think the recent Aelf focus article from GW means.

GW rarely does things without purpose, and the recent spotlight on the new Aelven gods has some people talking. We got the announcement that the remainder of the Lumineth line will be released in September, but why all the other ellipses and suggestions? Here’s my three hopes/thoughts about what the suggestive text could be pointing towards.

Warcry Shadow Aelves

We already know that Morathi is getting a warband to send to the Eightpoints, but we were never given a timetable for when we might see them. We know that Sons of Behemat are on their way next (or at least we assume so) but this announcement could mean we’ll be seeing the warband sooner than we thought. I can’t wait to get my hands on those awesome models, so I’d love to see them before year’s end.

Return of Tyrion/Widowmaker

Back in the World that Was, the High Elf golden boy made a pretty big mistake and pulled out the soul-corrupting Sword of Khaine. Sure he did it for the right reasons, and it did make him fun on the tabletop, but it was still not the best of plans. Now GW has insinuated that not only might he be back, but he might go reaching for the cursed sword again. I’m interested to see how the self-styled Oracle of Khaine will react to that.

Malerion’s Shadow Daemons/Aelves

Again returning to my favorite bandstand, MAYBE WE’RE GETTING MALERION’S SHADOW AELVES. The post also mentioned Shadow Daemons, so we might even see Malerion as a Chaos faction, or we might see an Orruk/Ogor style combo book pooling Daughter of Khaine and these new Shadow Aelves, which would also be pretty fantastic. I suppose only time will tell, but GW has been dangling the Malerion bait in front of our noses for long enough, and for my money it’s high time they made good on it.

Any thoughts of your own why GW brought up the Aelves again?
