Forge World has retired these units – but you’ll still get to use them via Warhammer Legends.

It’s the final update for a MASSIVE list of units from Forge World. These units have all been moved to Warhammer Legends. So if you have any of the following units, these datasheets are going to the be last official rules updates for them for the foreseeable future.

Yeah. That’s a LOT of units. We knew many of these would be getting moved over after the Imperial Armour Compendium but when you see them all listed out like this…wow. Forge World has produced a lot of kits over the years and they are really just slimming things down from their catalogue at this point.

Once again, it’s GW is making it clear that Warhammer Legends is there to allow folks to still play with their models in Open, Narrative, or Matched Play. However, they do not recommend these units for Competitive tournaments as they will no longer be updated or considered for balance purposes.

So say good-bye to units like the Chaplain Venerable Dreadnought – at least for Competitive Play.

Part of me does wonder what the selection process was behind these units vs the ones that made the cut in the Imperial Armour Compendium. Was it based on rules? Was it based on sales? Was it based on the life of the kits? Probably some combination of all of those factors.

Whatever the reason, we wish these models happy trails as they go off to a farm upstate in the sunset. If you own any of these models and you want to take them out for a spin there will always be Warhammer Legends for you.

And if you are looking for Forge World for competitive play, be sure to pick-up the Imperial Armour Compendium for all those units that still remain.

So long you Warhammer Legends. Good luck in your retirement age.
