Are you looking to take your Warcry games outside of the Bloodwing Spoil? Then check out the new Fall of Anvilgard campaign – for Free!

Warcry recently received a massive update with the release of the four Grand Alliance books. These books essentially let you play from just about every faction currently in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar in a Warcry setting. They featured rules for tons of models within the range and pretty much all things you’d need to play a Warcry Campaign. It’s a LOT of stuff from those four books. And with their release, some of the folks at GW got to thinking what it would be like to have a campaign outside of the Eightpoints. Enter the Fall of Anvilgard.

In this campaign two sides duke it out to relive the final days of the city of Anvilgard before the events in Broken Realms: Morathi kick off. GW brought in Warcry rules writer Sam Pearson to talk about the campaign.

Sam:“In this campaign, one player takes the role of Keiser Ven Brecht, the staunch Lord-Veritant of the Anvils of the Heldenhammer, who is trying to uncover the plot behind a series of murders across the city. The other player takes the helm of the Blackscale Coil, a criminal organisation that operates in the city’s shadows. “

There are quite a few things within this campaign that make things interesting and engaging for both players. In between games you’ll have a bit more to do as well. As the Ven Brecht player, you’ll have to decide where you would like to investigate within the city. At the same time, the Blackscale Coil player will have to decide how to divide up their forces and where to stage ambushes on them. This can lead to some very interesting and different scenarios.

On top of those structural changes, the campaign also provides each player with some additional weapons in their arsenal. Ven Brecht has his own fighter card and abilities with some unique abilities. And the Blackscale Coil side has access to things like a Scourgerunner Chariot – or even a Kharibdyss!

Yep – things are going to be REAL interesting when that shows up in a Warcry game.

Sam: “With a little bit of imagination and tinkering, you could use the format of this campaign to tell a story suited to a different collection of Citadel miniatures. For example, one player could take the role of the Order of Azyr hunting down a Tzeentchian cult or Skaven infiltrators in a city. Another idea is for a campaign that takes place on the streets of Carngrad in the Bloodwind Spoil, where one of the Chaos warbands seeks to hunt down and assassinate a Talon of the city in a desperate bid for power.”

This campaign is just the begining for these Warcry content updates. Warhammer Community is looking to make these a monthly addition to the rotation. So keep an eye out for all those coming in the future!
