The Ad Mech Electro-Priests are back with an updated set of rules for 9th edition. Take a look.

This image from a miniature assembly guide has been doing the rounds. It appears to be from a new repacked set of Adeptus Mechanicus Electro-priests.  It is all over facebook, and various forums.

Updated Electro-Priests

Some items from the updated statlines:

Weapons

  • Electroleech stave changes from D:D3 to D:2
  • Electrostatic gauntlets (shooting) changes from AP- to to AP-1
  • Electrostatic gauntlets (melee) changes from AP- to to AP-1, Strength changes from 5 to User +2 (no difference)

Notes

Again an increase in lethality. It is slight but seems to be the new trend in 9th edition. The Fulgurite Staves moving from D3 damage to D2, is both more reliable, and more importantly, removed an extra set of die rolls and keeps the game moving. I think that 8th edition was full of way too many of these unneeded rolls that ultimately didn’t accomplish much except slow down the game.

The Electrostatic Gauntlets of the Corpuscarii get a slight increase in AP. Overall the effects are subtle but make the unit more attractive.

To me, the biggest thing to note is that GW has not announced that Codex Adeptus Mechanicus is up for a new codex. With these kits already being spotted in the wild in stores -I take it as a surefire sign that they are up for release very soon, and that this is yet another side effect of the upheaval in GW’s production and release schedule as they deal with the realities of the global lockdowns and supply chain disruptions.
