Looking to add more Heavy Intercessors or Flayed Ones to your army? Reinforcements will arrive – in May.

In a shocking twist that pretty much everyone saw coming, the Heavy Intercessors and Flayed Ones will be getting their own boxed set releases. Yes, I know everyone is still recovering from the shock of that statement, but there is more to digest…you’ll have to wait until May for them to arrive.

via Warhammer Community

“The recent release of Kill Team: Pariah Nexus saw the first appearance of the Space Marines’ brilliantly beefy Heavy Intercessors and freshly updated Necron Flayed Ones, and a lot of you have been eager to know when you can add more of them to your armies.

We have good news on that front – these units will be available in their own boxes in May.”

Okay, so it wasn’t actually a big surprise that these two key units would be receiving their own boxed set releases. When we did our unboxing of the Pariah Nexus set, it was pretty clear that those were the full kits inside and not some sort of mono-pose push fit sets.

The boxed set does have some pretty great models inside (even if I’m not a fan of the Flayed Ones’ lore – the models are growing on me). Now the next question is when are we going to see clam packs/boxed releases for the Space Marine Captain and the Necron Chronomancer from Kill Team? Those models are kind of a big deal, specifically the Chronomancer for the Necrons. There are already lots of Space Marine Captain models that can be used and the same is not true for the Chronomancer.

Another big question is why the delay until May? I’m sure there are some big logistical and business reasoning behind the wait time. Perhaps it’s a production issue or supply issue or some other issue that is causing their release to come in May. We’re still in the middle of a Pandemic and I’m betting GW is also dealing with some of the logistical issues caused by Brexit, too. At this point, we’re just going to have to be patient and wait for our reinforcements to arrive in May.

Or you could pick up another copy or two of Kill Team: Pariah Nexus. That’s technically an option.
