BREAKING: Final ‘Smash Bros. Ultimate’ Fighter Revealed!
The final Smash Direct has dropped and revealed the last Smash fighter to be added to the roster! Spoilers ahead.
Nintendo’s “Mr. Sakurai Presents” has finally dropped and revealed the final fighter to be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be Sora from Kingdom Hearts!!

We had speculated about who the last fighter would be, and turns out the 4chan leaks were accurate. Sora is a well loved character and the Kingdom Hearts franchise as been going strong for nearly 20 years! So the addition is not all that surprising.
I’m sure this reveal has upset a number of fans and delighted even more. Having watched the whole trailer, Sora seems like a very strong and versatile character which certainly makes sense for an RPG character. Sora uses his iconic 3-hit combo attack, but has loads of magic spells with a variety of effects. Firaga does tons of damage and the Blizzaga spell freezes opponents solid.
Sora is a very light, bouncy character, for better and worse. But looks like he’s got tons of maneuverability for recovery. Plus, he’s got a counter! Frankly, Sora seems like an absolute beast. We don’t know what his final smash is, but we know it’s called Sealing the Keyhole.
Of course, we also get a new stage. It’s super simple with just a single platform in the center. So, I’m betting you’ll see it a lot in high level play.
During the Direct, Sakurai talked at some length about his decision to include Sora as the final fighter in Smash Ultimate. Many years ago, there was a survey released asking fans which characters they would like to see added. He mentioned Sora was at the top of the list. Considering how loyal Kingdom Hearts fans are to their franchise, it’s not really any surprise Sora ranked at the top of the list.
The release date for Challenger Pack 11 – Sora is October 8th for $5.99 USD.
