Someone is packing some serious firepower. Rocket Pods are Locked and Loaded in this week’s Rumor Engine from Games Workshop.

It’s Tuesday which means a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop is here to tease us about an future release. This time around, I’m pretty sure we’re looking at something from the Grimdark side of the house — call it a hunch. Just take a look for yourself.

“Come, weary traveller, and sit a moment by the light of the Rumour Engine. A mysterious image has been sent back through time for your eyes only – gaze into its secrets, and see what wisdom you can glean of the future.”

Alright – so what do we have here? Well, it certainly looks like a weapon system of some type. We’ve got some sensors on the right side, possibly more ordnance on the bottom and the top looks like the type of covering for a missile/rocket system. So, assuming it is for 40k, who would be using this?

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess it’s for something in the Imperium. It’s too bulky for the T’au, not spiky enough for Chaos, too machine-like for Tyranids, too well made for Orks, not sleek enough for any Aeldari, and too rudimentary for Necrons. That leaves the rest of the Imperium to deal with. That’s really where this gets tricky.

This reminds me of a weapon system you might see on a Space Marine Dreadnought. Or maybe one of their transports. But it’s hard to tell because it’s at a strange angle and we don’t know the scale of this bit. But it is just the right amount of ‘boxy’ to be a Marine weapon.

Alternatively, maybe it’s a bit on a new Guardsman vehicle. How long has it been since they got an update. Oh…wait. I remember now:

Whatever happened to the Scions anyhow…

In anycase, this is an interesting looking weapon system and I’m curious to see what/who it ends up belonging to. If you’ve got any ideas drop us a line in the comments and let us know what you think it will be. That’s part of the fun of Tuesdays and the Rumor Engine!

Is it a Jackal? It’s a Jackal!
