VoxStory is the cinematic way to experience tabletop roleplaying – now on Kickstarter!

Traditional games can be intimidating for new players, so Current Year Gaming wanted to create a system that guides its users through the process of map building, story setting, and character creation. Played in a similar way to traditional TTRPGs, VoxStory allows players to see their actions on a big screen.

Create characters, worlds, buildings and customize them all at the touch of a button with their auto-build features or create everything piece by piece. VoxStory is fully customizable including the game ruleset. More than just a virtual tabletop, VoxStory is a complete TTRPG system. Managing characters including their stat sheets, the world, and its environments as well as NPC’s and in-game quests, VoxStory has everything you need to run your adventures.

“For those that struggle to imagine the scene set by the Game Master, you’ll now be able to see it and bring your imagination to life” says founder Lex Barrow. “With VoxStory you can delve into a fully customized world filled with endless possibilities for you and your friends to explore!”

Gameplay involves the GM creating an initial map tile where they can select size, biome, water, mountains, nature, and critters. Based on these initial requirements, VoxStory generates a map tile which can then be fully customized. Features include changing the shape of the terrain, adding or removing scenery, and building detailed towns and villages.

With world creation, the possibilities are endless – you can customize every aspect of your world or use a pre-populated world if you’re short of time. Players can join your world with their own custom characters; gather round, connect to a large screen, such as a TV, and watch your adventure play out.

Simple Character Movement – Using the mobile companion app, character movement is easy. You will see a birds-eye view of the world, just tap the screen where you want your character to go. It’s as simple as that! Simply select “interact” and tap on the item or object you would like to interact with in-game.

Traditional TTRPG Dice Rolling – While we opted for modernizing and automating as much of the game as possible, we thought you can’t have a TTRPG without the roll of the dice! (In-game or for real and enter the result)

Intuitive Building Controls and Options – VoxStory uses a simple drag and drop system for building creation giving you more time to focus on the details of your campaign. Design buildings and then furnish them by placing fully rotatable and scalable objects. Objects can also be placed all over your world, you can create your vision with ease.

Make your character your own – Choosing from 12 classes and 10 races allows you to make any build possible. Want to play a goblin barbarian obsessed with great axes? Sure, how about an Orc who has harnessed the elements? Why not? With over 200 spells, ability, and talent options at launch every character you play is unique.

Character Combat – Select your action, ability, or spell and roll the dice virtually or in real life and enter the result to see if you hit and calculate damage.

Custom Weapon Forging & Enchantment Systems – Creating the sword of Galander has never been easier – simply select a hilt, pommel, blade, and effect!

Fully Customizable Weather, Time of Day, and Fog Effects – Control everything from the time of day, the density of fog, the color of the rain, and even how overcast it is! Our fog of war has a customizable setting to allow GMs to change the distance players can see or even fully disable it.

Along with all of these great features that will enhance your adventures, VoxStory is highly software compatible. It will be available on Windows PC, Mac, Linux via Steam Download, Google PlayStore, and iOS for the character app. The GM can connect their game to a large screen, so everyone can see the game play out. Character actions will be determined by physical dice rolls and via the VoxStory app.
