In the latest round of art from Rob Zombie’s The Munsters, fans get a peek at Halloween-themed promo art and classic practical effects.

Since the first looks at Rob Zombie’s The Munsters, we’re slowly learning more details about the upcoming production. Among them, Zombie has released some photos of the film’s practical effects and a new Halloween-themed poster.

The new artwork seems lighthearted with a spooky twist. The look is a sign that Zombie likely won’t abandon the original family-friendly vibe of the show for a gorier approach.

But the really exciting images are Zombie’s photos of the practical effects that will be used in the upcoming film. Love or hate Zombie’s filmography, it’s clear that the guy features some of the most creative makeup and practical effects.

It’s clear there’s some behind-the-scenes effects magic happening at 1313 Mockingbird Lane:

The team working on The Munsters, Ex Mortis, is a special effects studio and Halloween company started by Wayne Toth. Toth is a movie effects veteran whose work can be seen in a bunch of Zombie’s films: Lords of Salem, both Halloweens, and House of 1,000 Corpses.

The artist has also worked with Robert Rodriguez, and on other classic horror-esque films like WishmasterSpawn, and my personal favorite: The Faculty.

Hello, pre-teen nostalgia!

As for the poster, this isn’t the first bit of Rob Zombie Munsters art the director has released.

Everything Else We Know About The Munsters

The art and effects still don’t confirm any casting beyond what we already know. Sheri Moon Zombie will star as the iconic vamp Lily Munster, while Jeff Daniel Philips and Daniel Roebuck will play Herman Munster and Grandpa, respectively.

The Munsters is still in pre-production, and we’ll surely see more photos as filming ramps up. But these images are a good sign that Zombie will stay true to The Munsters legacy. But until we see more set photos, we’ll be left to speculate about what to expect from this creep 1960s family brought to life.
