Warhammer 40K: Codex Release Updates For Genestealers And Custodes
Games Workshop has shifted the release dates for the Genestealer Cults and Adeptus Custodes Codexes.
December is a BIG retail month and with that comes a whole lot of moving parts. One of those moving parts is all the packages flying around and it appears that GW is going to have to make some adjustments to their shipping timetable.
“While we previously expected the Adeptus Custodes and Genestealer Cults codexes to arrive alongside Shadow Throne, it’s fair to say that the process of shipping things around the world is still not without its challenges.
Despite the Herculean efforts of the teams that work to get new Warhammer into stores and homes every week, these codexes are now expected to land early next year. “
On the plus side, we’re still getting Shadow Throne in December of 2021.
On the not-so plus side, the codexes for the Genestealer Cults and Adeptus Custodes are getting pushed back to “Early 2022” which is a little ambiguous. Hopefully that means January. Fingers crossed we get them sooner rather than later in “early” 2022.
This boxed set is an interesting pairing for sure. The Custodes are a highly elite army that is pretty straight forward. The GSC are a bit more tricksy and generally have a numerical advantage especially when contrasted against the Custodes. I know folks are also very interested in seeing the lore in this box as it’s a freakin Genestealer Cult (and their Patriarch) on Holy Freaking Terra!
At least we’ll get to see those tidbits in the Shadow Throne box. And yeah, it does stink that the shipping for the codexes is all messed up, but it’s kind of an international thing right now. So, to be fair, this isn’t a thing that’s impacting only GW. The world is dealing with this issue so just prepare to be patient while things get sorted out.
