Netflix brings the laughs with Murderville. A who-done-it that relies on its stars’ quick wits and improv chops.

Murderville is a spoof on classic procedural dramas like Law & Order and Columbo. It has one big twist– the guest stars don’t get a script, they have to drop into the situation and rely on improv their skills. Those guest stars are Sharon Stone, Conan O’Brien, Annie Murphy, Ken Jeong, Marshawn Lynch, and Kumail Nanjiani.

It’s a little true crime, a little Whose Line is it Anyway?, and a lot of goofy shenanigans.

Murderville looks like a blast. We need more comedies right now and this looks like it will deliver a ton of laughs. I’m in just to see how many times the actors break character. Conan O’Brien’s flat delivery is going to be spectacular in this format, especially since he’s playing himself.

They’ll be tackling crimes involving ridiculous scenarios – one is a murder at a magic show that brings in rival magicians and somehow a moms association.

The a core cast includes Haneefah Wood, Lilan Bowden, and Phillip Smithey portraying coroners and detectives. All led by Will Arnett as senior detective Terry Seattle. It’s adapted from Murder in Successville, a BAFTA winning BBC3 series.
