Looking to add some serious FIREpower to your Aeldari roster? The Avatar of Khaine is coming to town to destroy everyone in its way!

By now you’ve probably seen the awesomeness that is the new Avatar of Khaine model. It’s an amazing glow up of the previous incarnation.

Games Workshop has revealed some of its rules and they are just as spicy as the new model! The Wailing Doom is going to devastate anything and everything that gets close.

Titan-Be-Gone

“The Avatar has received an updated statline to match his magnificent stature, making him faster, tougher, and stronger than before – a true centrepiece, as befits the statuesque shard of a sundered god.”

While I’m not really sure what’s going on with the color coordination of the stat block, the fact is that the Avatar of Khaine is just flat better, faster, and stronger than before. Jumping up to 8 toughness and 14 wounds is a big deal. Plus the Avatar is rocking a 2+ save. And you know this thing is going to have some kind of invulnerable on top of that.

Ah yeah. There it is. Molten Form also causes attacks to do 1/2 damage! Furthermore, he’s faster, has more leadership and gained some strength and attacks. I’m sure he’s going to put all that to good use with that flaming weapon of his.

Yikes! That’s some serious damage potential. The Piercing Strike can do a whopping 56 damage in one turn! That’s only if you roll extremely hot. But even if you don’t that flat +2 damage is going to add up quick. With a minimum damage of 21 (if everything hits and wounds) that’s still nothing to sneeze at. This firepower is so deadly it even makes Knights sweat!

On the flip side, the Sweeping Blow is also great for clearing out the chaff. That 7 attacks become 14 at 2 damage each! Clear out squads of even the elitist of infantry! Did we mention it shoots, too?

So, theoretically, if you shoot first and then get all your melee attacks in on the same target that’s a total of 64 damage the Avatar of Khaine can dump into one target. Just tossing that out there…

There’s one more tease from Games Workshop:

“The Avatar also has access to some impressive auras – aside from his general sense of style and presence, of course. The mere presence of their war god will drive nearby Asuryani into a bloody-handed battle-rage, but you’ll need to wait for Codex: Aeldari to arrive to get the whole story.”

The Avatar of Khaine is coming to burniate the countryside.
