Games Workshop is showcasing the Daughter of Khaine Hero from Arena of Shades. Meet the Gladiatrix and her new rules!

When you’re a Gladiator in the Arenas around the Mortal Realms your typically out for blood. Doubly so if you’re a member of the Daughters of Khaine. These fierce warriors are some of the deadliest fighters around and the High Gladiatrix is one of the best around.

Today we’re getting a closer look at her rules and how this champion of slaughter can take out an enemy with a finishing blow.

“The High Gladiatrix carries out the will of Khaine daily with her sacred butchery. Her whip is edged with razors, which she’s also tied into her hair for some extra cutting power. She is a true champion for the Sisters of Slaughter and embodies the pinnacle of their values.”

So how does that translate over to the tabletop? It comes in the form of her special ability: Killing Stroke.

Enemy Heroes beware! She’s got the potential to drop them like a bad habit. That potential spikes even further the closer the target is to dead. With many of the smaller heroes in the 5-6 wound range she’s perfect for sending in to finish the job. But this isn’t the only skill she’s packing.

“She also buffs surrounding Witch Aelves and Sisters of Slaughter, her thirst for blood whipping them into such a furious frenzy that they wound on rolls of 3+, and with a Rend of -1. Wherever the High Gladiatrix goes, her warriors know that the streets will run red.”

I don’t know how much experience you have battling these deadly ladies but that buff makes them even scarier. I’m starting to see the value in a unit that is designed to snipe out heroes…just throwing that out there.

If you’re a DoK fan you’re probably going to want to snag a copy of Arena of Shades. It’s your first crack at getting the High Gladiatrix to your army and she just might become a valuable member of your roster.
