Elden Ring hasn’t even been out a week and people are taking down bosses with weird controllers. Today, a Ring Fit. Tomorrow, who knows?

Since the dawn of Dark Souls, the games of Hiedtaka Miyazaki have proved to be challenging. Except for those gamers out there who study the blade (or hammer or axe or whatever weapon they use). Those who dedicate themselves find the game…trivial. So where do you go once you’ve beaten the game and beaten yourself?

In the past, Soulsborne players have turned to artifice to increase their challenge. Much like Rock Lee wearing training weights, people have played (and beaten) Dark Souls with controllers that range from DDR pads to an actual, literal banana.

Well now someone has tackled Elden Ring with the most appropriate controller. The Nintendo Ring Fit lends not only its name but its active-playstyle to Elden Ring. Call it Elden Ring Fit, if you will.

Elden Ring Fit

The setup of the Elden Ring Fit is as ingenious as it is strenuous. SuperLouis_64, whom you might recognize from that video of someone playing Final Fantasy XIV with a bow and arrow controller, turned to Elden Ring with a Ring Fit to prove that you’re trash.

Elden Ring Fit Adventure is the perfect way to play. You have to run, actually run, to enable moving. And if you want to heal (as one often does in Elden Ring), you have to squat. So you’ll be feeling the burn as your character rolls around on screen.

Also worth mentioning are the extremely cool motion control setups, so you can actually swing your controller as though it were your weapon. It’s just a matter of time before that is a reality, and I am here for it. Want to learn more about the setup? Check out the Twitter thread linked below.
