Come and take a look at how the campaign plays out in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters as the developer’s mission continues.

Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters promises to bring the grim darkness of the distant future headlong into the turn-based tactical gameplay of an XCom type game. That is a delicious combo if ever I heard one. And in a new developer stream, we get a look at the longterm campaign play of Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters.

Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters Campaign Playthrough

The developers of Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters are back with another two hour stream. This time we get to see how the gameplay evolves from mission to mission as your campaign progresses. And depending on how you do, things can get better–or they can get extremely worse.  We’ll take a quick look at the stream in the article, but for the full two-hour stream look below.

Right away we get a look at how the campaign has changed. This next mission takes place on a world that was left to fester with the Bloom. And here the corruption has increased. Now the Grey Knights find that Nurgle’s forces have become a bit stronger. Warp Surges increase a lot faster.

As you can see, the world the Grey Knights embark on is getting more and more infested. And in the stream you can see other worlds that have fallen completely (don’t tell the grandmaster). How do you navigate the galaxy? In your ship. We have a much better look at the ship upgrade system:

This reminds me a lot of the ship in the Battletech game from Harebrained Studios. You’ll upgrade your mobile base–but you’ll also want to research the Bloom:

This stream showcases the advanced classes. So you get to see the more elite Grey Knights in action. Including the Chaplain who can use a number of litanies to buff your squad:

And the promethium flamethrower in action, laying absolute waste to the cultists of Nurgle trying to suppress a Librarian.

There’s just so much to tinker with in this game. You get a suite of tools and weapons to solve the problems created by the rising tide of Nurgle. If you like tactical gameplay where your choices matter, you’ll want to check out Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters.

Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters releases May 5th, and you can find it on Steam.

Good luck, Grey Knights
