Horus Heresy 60 Second Recap? Games Workshop Nailed It
I didn’t think it was possible to recap the Horus Heresy in 60 seconds but Games Workshop’s resident Loremaster Wade nailed it.
First up, if you didn’t catch the first time Wade tried to do a recap, it didn’t go so well.
But that was then. Earlier this week he attempted to tackle the Horus Heresy in a 60 second or less recap and it went a LOT smoother:
Yeah…he pretty much nailed it! In case you saw the video length of “1:54” and thought there was no possible way he pulled it off…you should really watch the video.
Horus Heresy: The Recap
At the end of the day, the Horus Heresy is really about the massive galactic civil war between the 18 Space Marine Legions set 10,000 years before “modern” 40k. It’s brother vs brother in a class that culminates with Horus facing off against the Emperor in a “Brawl-For-It” all on Terra. It’s about as EPIC as 40k can get!
A New Challenge Approaches
We might all know the outcome but there are so many stories and battles that happened along the way. It makes for a very fertile playground for all the different types of players out there. If you’re looking for a competitive game, nothing else is a true test of pure generalship when you’ve got the same forces as your opponent. Mirror matches are innately challenging affairs.
For hobbyists out there, Horus Heresy Era Legion armies look stunning. It’s easy to get inspired to paint up some “fresh-from-the-factory” marines or go the opposite and show them battle damaged after a long and brutal campaign. And of course there’s everything in between.
And for the Campaign/Narrative minded players the Horus Heresy is a sandbox of campaigns to choose from. From Istavann to Terra, there are plenty of battles to recreate and play out. Can you do it better than the Primarchs?
