Come check out even more of the cards awaiting you in Battle for Baldur’s Gate. Wizards, gods, and a flaming fist await within.

People are getting hyped for Battle for Baldur’s Gate, the newest upcoming Commander set. And it’s not hard to see why. With cards that include the actual Baldur’s Gate and some pretty spicy mechanics, there’s a lot to love about these cards. Whether you’re a fan of D&D or Magic (or both) there’s something for everyone in this set. Let’s take a look!

Battle for Baldur’s Gate Spoilers Spill Out Everywhere

First up, we return to that classic original trilogy. We saw Jon Irenicus, the legendary villain of Baldur’s Gate 2. Now a member of the party has been gathered before venturing forth. It’s Imoen, Mystic Trickster. Imoen is a Rogue Wizard, meaning she is a Rogue who is also a Wizard. Not a Wizard who has gone rogue in some organization. This makes her the first multiclass character in D&D in Magic.

How about the Flaming Fist and their commander, Duke Ravengard? These cards should be familiar faces to anyone who’s played BG1.

Speaking of the Flaming Fist, how about one of their first run-ins? Here’s Viconia, the evil Drow Cleric from the first two games. She looks…different from her original character art. Shame about her awesome purple hair.

Speaking of Baldur’s Gate characters, here’s Wyll from BG3 making an appearance with Wyll’s Reversal. A fantastic way to take control of a target spell or ability.

Or Korlessa, Scale Singer, a dragon who is also a Bard. You can always scry and when you’ve got her going, you can cast Dragon spells once you know they’re there. Not bad if you can keep her around long enough to cast some spells.

Far Traveler is another Background that your Commander can potentially choose. You’ll gain some abilities from within the Command Zone.

But the real star of the show is Sir Bearrington here. Wilson, refined Grizzly  not only can’t be countered, but he has vigilance, reach, trample, and ward 2. What a very good bear indeed.

Happy Adventuring
