Warhammer 40K: Tyranid FAQ Out – Yes Zoanthropes Have Synapse

Games Workshop released a Tyranid Errata/FAQ and cleared up a few things. Yes, Zoanthropes have Synapse now.

With a new codex comes a few …questions. Thankfully, that’s what the Errata/FAQ is for. The Tyranids got a new book a few weeks back which means their first update is out and kicking. It’s relatively short so let’s take a look!

There’s a couple of clarifications and a fix to a somewhat of an oversight with the Zoanthropes. They got the Synapse keyword which we all sort of figured was just left out on accident. The Hive Tyrant also got a “fix” for the double Heavy Venom Cannon / double stranglethorn cannon. Sorry folks, you can only equip one of each. I had a feeling that was an oopsie as well.

The FAQ ruling on Enraged Reserves Adaptive Physiologies might be a tad controversial. However, that’s the ruling so we’re sticking to it. Psychic Overload doesn’t get the double wounds which does tone it down but it still functions.

The one big change that I’m personally glad to see get an Errata is the Tyrannocyte. This thing has always been (essentially) a Drop Pod for the Tyranids. Thanks to the Errata, it’s now been moved to the Dedicated Transport role and has been given the rule that allows it to “Drop Pod” in regardless of the mission. Again, we all kind of figured that was how it was supposed to function anyhow. Glad to see common sense won out.

The document is relatively short and sweet. But was there anything missing? Let us know what you think in the comments!

Yes, Zoanthropes have Synapse — because of course they do!
