Just like Morathi, all the best things come in twos.

By now, most Daughters of Khaine players either have or have seen the new battletome. Armies are being built, theories are being crafted, and everyone is starting to settle on their favorite subfaction. Last week, we looked at the first three Temples, so this week we’ll round it out with the last three. Here’s a speedy review of the second half of the Temples section, rounding out our series on the Daughters of Khaine.

Khailebron

Masters of shadow magic and subterfuge, these are the devotees of Khaine that favor subterfuge over wild abandon. The Warcry faction, the Shadowstalkers, can be taken as Battleline, which is awesome because they’re an amazing unit. In addition, a Khailebron hero can twist the shadows around their allies, allowing them to teleport anywhere on the battlefield, so long as they end more than 9″ from the enemy. If you want an army that can run circles around your enemy and attack them from every angle, pick this Temple.

The Kraith

All the Daughters of Khaine are master killers, but none take it to the extreme quite like the Kraith. They are the truest disciples of Khaine, murderers of such a degree that they aren’t satisfied until their amount is completely bled out. To this end, they will not cease their assault until the last enemy lies lacerated before them. To represent their sadistic streak, once a Kraith Sisters of Slaughter unit has fought for the first time in the combat phase, you can roll a d6. On a 4+, that unit gets to fight again at the end of the combat phase, ensuring their target stays dead for good. If you want to eliminate your enemy with extreme prejudice, Kraith is for you.

Zainthar Kai

Daughters of Khiane aren’t just murderers in bikinis; they also employ the serpentine Melusai, beings created in the image of their Shadow Queen. The Melusai are the elite infantry of the Daughters, with the ability to turn their opponents to crystal with a touch or take them out with venomous arrows from far away. The Zainthar Kai are their army, allowing you to take both flavors of Melusai regardless of who your general is (though you’ll still probably want to take an Ironscale). In addition, Melusai from this subfaction can fight before they’re removed from play in combat. That means you don’t have to worry so much about getting eliminated early, since you can still dish out your deadly attacks if you go down first. If you like snakes, Cobra Kai is your faction.

Which is your favorite subfaction?
