It’s Geeked Week on Netflix, and the cast of Stranger Things is here to play D&D for real in The Hellfire Club. Watch it today!

Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons have intertwined themselves over the last few years. When Stranger Things came out in 2016, it helped bring D&D back into the public eye in a big way. And D&D was ready with a shiny new 5th Edition ruleset, barely two years old.

Stranger Things’ story of intrepid kids on bikes, just trying to save their friend while playing D&D quickly spiraled into a hit show. And so too did D&D rise. Along with it, so came streamed games like Critical Role which paved the way for shows like Dimension 20 et al.

In the show, D&D unites the main kids in the Hellfire Club, and also gives names to the series’ many antagonists. Demogorgon, Mind Flayers, and now, Vecna.

…all have their name taken straight from the Monster Manual or Deities & Demigods. Which is why Netflix is showcasing a D&D Adventure featuring the Hellfire Club during Geeked Week. In fact it’s later today.

The Hellfire Club: A Stranger Things D&D Adventure

The Hellfire Club: A Stranger Things Dungeons & Dragons Adventure happens later today:

Tune in at 11am CST, and you’ll get to see the Hellfire Club in action. Want a glimpse? Well the adventure is pre-recorded, as most are these days. But that just means we get peeks behind the scenes, like this:

That’s DM B. Dave Walters leading the Stranger Things cast through their adventure. Walters is no stranger (pun intended, it’s always intended) to D&D streaming. And while we don’t know too much about what they’ve gotten up to, this isn’t the first time Stranger Things and D&D have crossed over like this. Perhaps a look back at how Stranger Things saved D&D Christmas, a very real adventure that happened two years back, will help paint a picture of what you can expect:

This happened back in 2020, when DM Chris Perkins led David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, and Natalia Dyer through a holiday special of a D&D adventure. Whatever else happens, you won’t want to miss the hijinks of The Hellfire Club: A D&D Adventure on Netflix’s Geeked Week.

Happy Adventuring, and remember, today at 11am!
