Age of Sigmar: 3 Warcry Armies We Want to See

3 Minute Read
Jul 26 2022

There’s no reason Chaos should have all the small-scale fun. Let’s talk about what we want to see in Warcry’s future.

Games Workshop has given us our first look at the next Warband coming to Warcry, the fierce Chaos Legionnaires, and they look ready to rumble with the best of them. However, unlike most of the warbands that have shown up before, they have no loyalty to Archaon, and instead follow the Master of Shadows, Be’Lakor. After the ascension of Morathi thanks in no small part to the actions of her Shadowstalker agents, it seems like other players are turning their eyes towards the treasures of the Realms. With the power of small scale incursions revealed, it’s only a matter of time until someone else shows up to play, and I have a few hopefuls in mind.

Skaven

The Skaven have already proven themselves to be master infiltrators, helping Be’Lakor with his most recent plans and finding themselves at almost every major event of the Old World. They created the sword that brought down Nagash, they unleashed a plague that devastated the Empire of Man, and were it not for their distrustful nature, they would have overrun the surface long ago. This same nature, however, would be perfect for skirmish warfare, as a small cadre of Eshin warriors hoping to gain favor with the Deathmasters would likely seek a small raiding party as a target. If they can return to the Under-Empire with man-thing treasures and artefacts, alls the better.

Undead

If there’s one fellow that likes to have all the toys, it’s Nagash. As the God of Death, he is always seeking more power to extend his dominion into other Realms, hoping to bring about an empire of the dead that spans every corner of the world. If he got wind of powerful artefacts or materials for the taking, he’d no doubt send a party of undead to recover them. While I doubt he would trust it to the prideful Soulblighted or ethereal Nighthaunt, Warcry could be a great avenue for an Ossiarch resurgance. Sigmar knows they need it…

Malekith/Umbraneth

Say it loud, say it proud.  Umbraneth! When do we want them? NOW! When did we need them? Yesterday!

Please? I mean I’d rather have an army proper but at this point I’ll take anything.
