Looking to add some interesting NPCs to your next game? The Stranger Things Character Codex imagines familiar faces as D&D stat blocks.

Stranger things have happened than someone putting Stranger Things into D&D. And that’s exactly what freelance designer and consultant Anthony Joyce-Rivera has done.

For free, at that. In the Stranger Things Character Codex you’ll find four NPCs done up in full Monster Manual style statblocks:

  • Steve “The Hair” Harrington
  • Eddie Munson
  • Dustin Henderson
  • Argyle

Stranger Things Character Codex

It’s pretty much what it says on the tin. Designed by Anthony Joyce-Rivera, whose work includes Darkhold: Secrets of the Zhentarim and Baldur’s Gate: City Encounters, the Stranger Things Character Codex 1 imagines two of your favorite new characters from Stranger Things as NPCs.

Argyle is a particular favorite, whose actions include Purple Palm Tree Delight, which sends all your troubles floating away, like the seed pods of a dandelion in the wind. And Surf’s Up, My Dude, which allows him to use the Help action as a bonus action.

Eddie Munson’s got a homemade spear and shield, and, of course, has the ability to cast spells while playing Master of Puppets:

The whole packet is available for free, as Joyce-Rivera dropped on Twitter. Where he also gave us a look at more characters in the work. Here’s Lucas Sinclair:

Hopefully we’ll soon be seeing even more familiar faces cross over. Especially since searches for D&D are up some 600% after the popularity of Stranger Things season 4. And with Vecna dealt with and an even greater threat on the horizon, who knows what lies in store for the Hellfire Club of Hawkins, ID.

All we can say, is that their campaign is sure to be a legendary one.

Perhaps you might be thinking Master of Puppets takes longer than a single Legendary Action to play, and you’d be right, but consider just how fast Eddie might be shredding
