Horus Heresy: White Scars Upgrade Pack & New Free Exemplary Battle Download

The White Scars are getting the Upgrade Pack treatment for your Horus Heresy Era gaming. Plus there’s a new Exemplary Battle to try out.

Games Workshop has announced another Upgrade Pack is on the way and this time it’s for showing off the wrath of Khan. Well, at least his sons…because it’s a White Scars Upgrade Pack!

“Many White Scars, including the Khan himself, found the transition from wild and free Chogorian culture to the stifling Imperial doctrine an arduous process. Warrior poets with a penchant for mounted combat, they attempted to keep these traditions alive when they joined the Great Crusade.”

There’s actually two upgrade packs coming later this year for the White Scars. First up, we have the MKVI Heads pack that does include one helmetless head and whole lot of top knots.

Designed to work best with your “Beakie” Marines but they also can work with other Marine Bodies, too. So if you wanted to make a unit champion stand out in a non-Heresy Army these heads will have you rolling in options.

Naturally, there’s also the shoulder pads to go with the White Scars. These are “10 trim-free resin pauldrons” designed for use with your White Scars. Again, perfect for unit champs for your non-Heresy Era armies — or even better for blinging out your White Scars and avoiding water-slide transfer sheets.

Both of these packs will be available later this year.

Horus Heresy Exemplary Battle – Battle of Trisolian

This month’s battle showcases the time the Space Wolves, led by Leman Russ, charged into battle against Horus directly at the Battle of Trisolian. This was covered specifically in the novel Wolfsbane — so if you want the full story read that.

In any case, we’re getting a brand new mission to play as well as a few new units to check out. If you haven’t check out these Exemplary Battles before they are really well done. Plus they are a free download so it’s worth taking a look.
