In Spelljammer Academy players (and DMs) will learn the basics of the setting. And as of today, anyone with even a free D&D Beyond account can claim the adventure for free.
Orientation Awaits You
Although it should be noted Spelljammer Academy is actually four adventures. And the one that dropped this week is only the first of many. Titled Orientation, this adventure will take players from 1st to 2nd level while giving newbies and veterans alike an overview of what the final frontier is like in D&D:
Located on a remote island many miles from shore, Spelljammer Academy is the premier training ground for adventurers looking to venture into Wildspace. This state-of-the-art facility hosts everything aspiring spacefarers need to prepare for adventures beyond their planet.
Cadets will train alongside seasoned spelljamming instructors as they learn the ins and outs of surviving the perils of Wildspace and the Astral Sea. Those that have what it takes will join the prestigious ranks of the Spelljammer Academy’s navy.
And the adventure is an absolute delight. Without delving into too many spoilers, it tosses players into the unknown right away. And then quickly eases them into academy life.
You’ll find a delightful mix of combat encounters, roleplaying opportunities, and exploration awaiting you. As a result, you’ll be able to get the full picture of Spelljamming life.
