Have you heard of The Carniverse? Well, one of my friends has been busy painting dinosaurs for it, and today I want to share.

For those who don’t know, The Carniverse is a miniatures game (designed to be used with whatever miniatures you have) where you play the role of a survivor in a world where society collapsed. To make it more interesting, dinosaurs exist. In this game, you build a base, create your band of survivors and play a campaign game through a series of skirmish battles. In the battles, there is you, your opponent, and the dinosaurs. Don’t make too much noise or you will attract their attention.

The Carniverse comes from Cardboard Dungeon Games. It shares a lot of similarities to Last Days: Zombie Apocalypse published by Osprey Games. Which one you choose could basically boil down to what you want as the AI enemy. Zombies, or Dinosaurs?

Well, my buddy Dave has been painting mini Dinosaurs up like a mad man for a demo game of The Carniverse. He is going to run this demo at a gaming Convention this weekend.

Ragnarok Gaming Convention

I will be at this convention too. It is the first one that I have been to since 2019! Its name is Ragnarok and it is in Kitchener (Ontario, Canada). Sadly, it needed to be shut down for the past two years due to concerns over COVID. It starts this Saturday (August 20th) and ends on Sunday (August 21st). I am there on Sunday.

For more information about the event, I have details on my personal site. You can also go to the event website too. Now that the event can actually run, Dave is going to introduce folks to an alternative type of miniatures game that they might not otherwise have tried.

Let’s swing this post around now back to The Carniverse and the miniatures that Dave painted for it.

The Painted Dinosaurs

Check out these miniatures. They are 3D printed and sized for 28mm gaming. The source files are by Ismael Panadero Garcia and you can buy his files from MyMiniFactory. Overall, Dave did a great job painting up these 3D printed miniatures. I am really looking forward to seeing them on Sunday when he runs a demo game of The Carniverse.

Let’s take a quick look at the painted miniatures, starting with a Hungry T-Rex…

Wrapping it up…

In this post, we took a quick look at some miniatures from MyMiniFactory that a friend of mine painted. For more of his work, I have a gallery of his miniatures on my site. Come take a look.

He painted these miniatures to run demos of a 28mm miniatures game called The Carniverse. This game by Cardboard Dungeon Games is about just trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by dinosaurs. That game, he is running at this weekend at Ragnarok. For me, this event is going to represent my first gaming convention since 2019. I am excited!

Until next time, Happy Gaming Everyone!!!
