There’s quite a few infamous Chaos Daemons running around. Sure would be nice to get them as characters one day.

Chaos Daemons are getting a new codex very soon and since we already talked about a handful of Daemon Princes we wish would show up, we didn’t want to skip out on some lesser daemons that should also make an appearance. Let’s take a closer look at some infamous Chaos Daemons!

Sa’ra’am

Believed to be created when the first mortal made a tool to kill another, Sa’ra’am claims to have been around for a long time. His essence was bound to the Forge World Sarum for a long time but he was eventually freed by Perturabo. Afterwards, he possessed the body of the Iron Warrior Volk and created the first Obliterator. Considering we’ve got those (relatively) new plastic Obliterators, it would be neat to see an Obliterator Character of some type as a nod to Sa’ra’am.

M’Kachan

M’kachan has been described as a Lord of Change and has battled  Grey Knights Brother-Captain Stern quite a bit. Their fates seem to be intertwined or perhaps this Lord of Change is manipulating events so that their paths intersect. Who can say when you’re dealing with Tzeentch, right? Regardless, having a another “named” Lord of Change would be a nice addition for Chaos Daemons. Kairos Fateweaver can’t be everywhere, right?

Thogralathrax

Thogralathrax is a Daemon of Nurgle that attempted to let loose the Suppurant Scourge disease on Terra itself. Fortunately for the inhabitants of Holy Terra, the Adeptus Custodes were there to clean up this mess. They managed to banish the Daemon back to the warp. Still, any Daemon that tries to make a play at Terra directly probably deserves more props — and maybe a character update in the future.

Sapphire King

The Sapphire King is a daemon of Slaanesh. It was created when Fulgrim killed Ferrus Manus and is an amalgamation of Ferrus Manus’ frustrations and love for his brother. The Sapphire King is a noted enemy of the Iron Hands and has tempted many to turn to chaos in the years since it’s birth. He was eventually beheaded  by Iron Hands Epistolary Lydriik. However, we all know you can’t just behead a daemon of chaos to get rid of it. The Sapphire King’s essence still lives on in the warp waiting for it’s time to return to torment the Iron Hands once again…

Madail

Madail participated in the Horus Heresy. We won’t cover all this actions here but there is one part of this daemons story we want to highlight. During a battle with Sanguinus, Madail attempted to force him to serve the Chaos Gods. This is the part of the story we’re focusing on:

“Sanguinius was trapped by Madail’s servants and gave him a choice: take Horus’ place as Warmaster of Chaos and serve the Gods or he would die and his sons would be forever damned by the Black Rage. Sanguinius resisted the temptations, and engaged in a vicious battle against Madail. The battle was interrupted by the intrusion of Guilliman and Lion El’Jonson as well as the Sanguinary Guard who all breached the portal to the Veritas Ferrum. In their battle, Sanguinius and Madail were badly wounded both became trapped in the portal, hanging between the Ferrum and Davin. It was then that Sanguinius’ Herald appeared and took The Angel’s place at the portal. Freeing Sanguinius, he charged at Madail and the two collapsed together into the portal.”

Look, if the Sanguinor can make a come back and start popping up wherever Blood Angels might need him, then why can’t Madail? Wait…what if the Sanguinor IS Madail…hmm wouldn’t that be interesting.

There’s lots of lesser known Chaos Daemons running around out there — who are some of your favorites?
