Are you a fan of the Space Hulk setting but wish the game play was a bit more Kill Team? You’re in luck because the latest Kill Team Boxed set is out and Into The Dark takes the game into the tight corridors of a Space Hulk. Kill Team: ‘Into The Dark’ Unboxing

The claustrophic atmosphere of a Space Hulk is a perfect place to theme your games of Kill Team around. The new boxed set comes with everything you’ll need to tackle the missions in the Space Hulk Gallowdark as well! Inside you’ll find a Core Rule book, the campaign/lore book for Into The Dark, two brand new fully customizable Kill Teams, a box load of terrain, and all the extras you need to play.

Now, let’s talk about those awesome new miniatures. First up, a returning favorite: The Kroot!

So I put together all the Kroot in the box and you get quite a few options. This box sure feels like it’s setting up a new Kroot Merc box release for the T’au army (or hopefully something bigger) as you’ve got a lot of different builds you can assemble. The Kinband (as the Kroot are called) mostly have those recognizable Kroot Long Rifles but they have some new weapons in the mix.

There’s the “bowgun”, a new Heavy Weapon (with three different options), lots of melee options, and even some lever action Kroot Rifles. Personally, I’m a big fan of the lever action rifle look. There’s also some scoped long rifles — although those seem a little out of place on a Space Hulk…but that’s just me.

There’s a couple of different body sculpts and, when combined with the various options, you end up with a lot of variety in the box. That’s kind of why I think (and hope) we get this box re-released as a full Kroot Squad for the T’au later.

The Imperial Navy Breacher team is another unit full of options. There’s also a lot of variety in these builds, too. In particular, there’s a special bomb disposal/grenadier Breacher, a “riot shield” Breacher, and a Specialist weapon carrying Breacher. There’s also a couple different specialists you can build that man the drones in the list. And I really liked the Fire Axe wielding Breacher, too.

This is another unit that definitely feels like it’s going to get a box of its own for 40k one day. Heck, I’ve already jotted down my thoughts about an entire Imperial Navy army. It’s kind of odd we haven’t seen more of them before considering how many crew are on board a ship and how 40k have a LOT of Space Travel.

I also want to highlight the awesome terrain in this box. This entirely new set is designed to look like the inside of a Space Hulk. Yeah, we’ve had Space Hulk board before and we’ve have Zone Mortalis boards that can replicate the inside of buildings. But this set is very clearly the insides of a ship.

I really like how the doors look with this set. If you’ve even been on a big Naval vessel then you’ll recognize the bulk heads. It’s that “submarine” look with a mix of “gothic archaic future-tech” on the walls that really makes it cool. With this set it’s easy to picture the insides of an Imperial Cruiser. I’d almost feel bad for the crew as they move around the ship in these cramped corridors. But it’s probably way safer inside the ship than outside…

It’s a cool set of models in this box. If you’re a fan of Kill Team and want that Space Hulk vibe, you can’t go wrong with this box!

Kill Team: Into the Dark $210

After thousands of years in the warp, the space hulk Gallowdark has emerged into realspace. This colossal, moon-sized derelict holds enormous wealth for those courageous enough to explore it – and terrifying dangers for those foolhardy enough to step inside. A mercenary Farstalker Kinband of the alien Kroot is first to seek the pick of the plunder, only to be cornered as elite Imperial Navy Breachers storm the hulk. Little do either team realise that their rivals are far from the only danger waiting within…

The thrilling game of sci-fi skirmish battles enters a new season as operatives clash amongst the claustrophobic corridors of a massive drifting spacecraft, and Kill Team: Into the Dark is the perfect place to jump aboard. This incredible boxed set is packed with two complete kill teams – Imperial Navy Breachers armed for boarding, and a Farstalker Kinband of brutal Kroot – alongside a new gameboard and stunning terrain pieces representing the interior of the Gallowdark, plus all the rules and accessories you need to start playing straight away. It’s a brilliant box to share with a friend – or grab two full kill teams of your own.

Once more into the dark…
