MTG: Dominaria United Back In Black Spoilers

3 Minute Read
Sep 4 2022

Dominaria United draws nigh. But before that day gets here, why not take a look at Dominaria United’s black spoilers?

Dominaria United is back in black, spoilers that is. Today we’re looking at those swampy spoilers that take everyone’s cards off of the table. Because there’s nothing quite like removal.

And black does it with special aplomb. Let’s take a look!

Dominaria United Black Spoilers

Black is the color most closely associated with Phyrexians. After all, Phyrexian oil is black, and so far, they have the greatest number of Phyrexians aboard. From Phyrexian Berserkers to Battlefly Swarms, if it involves deathtouch and losing life, there’s nothing these machine-abominations can’t do.

Of course, black has so much more than Phyrexians here. Braids  gets his day in the sun. And even sunnier Planeswalkers get to lean on their darker side. After all, when facing Phyrexians, it’s kill swiftly or die.

Good thing black excels at killing quickly.

Which is good, because there are a lot of Phyrexians here. Especially since we get to see how Phyrexians are evolving. The Evolved Sleeper is a gift that keeps on giving (and taking).

And while there are a lot of Phyrexians, who will help you see what’s coming down the pipe, no one stands out quite as much as Liliana of the Veil, seen here with gorgeous new art.

The one thing I love about this set, though, is how much the disparate factions of Dominaria United are coming together. You’ve got necromancers and vampires and the Raven Man all teaming up to take on the machines. But just look at how powerful their opposition is. Sheoldred will give fuel to any number of decks.

With the next sets going back into Dominaria’s past, I’m curious to see what it’s like full of artifacts. But for now, we know that it’s full of the restless dead given purpose:

All this in Dominaria United!
