We start with the Genestealer Patriarch. Because every good Tyranid needs a powerful psychic controller. And the Patriarch gets to turn your enemy’s own creatures into Tyranids that serve the Hive Mind, and by extension, you.

He combos extremely well with the Genestealer Locus who can help your creatures chip away at even big targets without losing. And you can supplement your burgeoning Genestealer Cult with psychic powers. Tyranid powers like Aetherize:

This card is fantastic. Return all attacking creatures to their owners hand. Glory to the Hive Mind, this is going to get you punched in the face when you do it to an opponent who has managed to get a ton of creatures out.

Just don’t wipe out your nascent Genestolen creatures in the process.

The Adeptus Mechanicus get their mechadendrites into the Warhammer 40K blue spoilers as well. You can finally make like a Fabricator General and tutor an artifact up from the depths of your deck.

So, clearly WotC has some designers that main Tyranid armies. But, even that isn’t enough to keep Ultramarines out of blue entirely. Here, at last, is the Vanguard Suppressor who’s been long-awaited since the initial reveal last year.
