Games Workshop has released a new Rumor Engine into the wild and it looks rather shapely. Or maybe it’s a PlayStation 40,000 Controller.

Welcome to Tuesday! That means it’s time for another Rumor Engine — and this one is weird. We got theories to discuss but you need to see it first and form your own opinion before we go any further.

“Phew, what an incredible weekend of reveals. Can you spot all the things that appeared in Rumour Engines of the distant past? Here’s another image to add to the pile.”

At first glance this looks a lot like a sword. But is it? And what’s up with those shapes? Kind of reminds me of the PlayStation buttons:

Sure, the “X” is swapped out for “Diamond” but the other shapes are the same. Kind of strange if you ask me. Other than the PlayStation reference, and the fact that this could be a sword, we don’t have much else to go on. The paint jobs can be deceiving but it also reminds me of how the studio paints Necrons.

I’m mostly referring to the weapons here. Also, the Necrons do have those circles on a lot of their weapons. That doesn’t explain the other shapes however. Who knows — maybe we’re looking at the beginnings of a completely new model range! Heck, this could even be something from the Age of Sigmar. I don’t know which faction that could be from if it was from AoS. But again, if it’s all brand new, then the door is wide open.

In any case this new Rumor Engine is odd and I’m curious to see what this one becomes in the future. Anyone want to guess how long it will be before we get a reveal? Hopefully GW won’t keep us in the dark for more than a year this time.
