Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special comes with a side of bacon that will make everyone feel footloose and maybe have some tremors.

The Guardians of the Galaxy are a rag-tag bunch of criminals and aliens, but they care about one another. They care enough to kidnap Footloose and Tremors star Kevin Bacon to make their friend feel better during the holidays. Peter Quill is down after losing Gamora and being removed from the holiday traditions he grew up with. Drax and Mantis go to Earth in search of the best gift ever, and it goes hilariously sideways in the most GotG way ever.

The studio is following up the fantastic Werewolf by Night with what looks to be another hit. I’m not a big Christmas or holiday person, but I’m looking forward to watching more of the big-hearted Guardians of the Galaxy crew. Gunn has said it’s a must-watch ahead of GotG 3, which comes out in May of next year. Supposedly we’re going to see Planet X,  Groot’s home planet, in this one.

Also: Cosmo the Telepathic Space Dog!

If you’re looking for more with more Marvel holiday cheer you can pair the special with some great comics like the several editions of Giant Superhero Holiday Grab-Bag and 1993’s Marvel Holiday Special. The latter includes shorts with Ghost Rider and The Hulk bringing holiday cheer alongside a Santa. And there’s always the X-Men animated special that has a great kitchen fight between Jean Grey and Gambit.
