Delve into the deadly Gnarlroot to recover a celestial weapon? Sounds like a typical Tuesday in Warcry.

The newest expansion for Warcry, Sundered Fate is on the horizon, and it’s bringing some exciting new things to the small-scale battlefield. There’s gorgeous terrain, new opposing forces, and a mystical campaign that takes you deep into the heart of the Gnarlwood. But is the box worth picking up? I certainly think so. Here’s all the new stuff coming your way in the Sundered Fate box set.

More Terrain

I loved the Endor terrain first introduced in the Gnarlwood box set, and this box gives you even more. You get extra tree platforms, more bamboo bridges, and obstacles to represent the skeletons of ancient beasts and overgrown Seraphon ruins. This is the perfect expansion for the original box terrain and will allow you to extend your Gnarlwood scenery to a complete game table if you want!

New Warbands

Sundered Fate introduces two new warbands, the stone-faced Jade Obelisk and the stealthy Hunters of Huanchi. As a Tzeentch player, I’m partial to the Obelisk, but both warbands are equally dynamic and exciting. The Obelisk are slow (which makes sense as they’re slowly turning to stone), but they can manipulate their dice for extra turns or healing, and when they hit you, they HIT you. The Hunters, on the other hand, rely on their speed, stealth, and deadly poisons to take at the enemy from range before retreating out of their reach. Both warbands are unique and will bring new ways to play to your Warcry games.

An Exciting Campaign

A crashed Seraphon void ship has been discovered in the depths of the Gnarlwood, covered in deadly flora. However, the circumstances of the crash have drawn the attention of the Chaos Gods, and the ancient technology within must be protected at all costs. Take control of one of the included warbands, or add in warbands of your own to play a modified version of the quest for the ship. Will you defend the fallen craft or harvest its arcane payload for the Dark powers?
