Games Workshop has dropped a big teaser for the Arks of Omen as well as a Roadmap of things to come for Warhammer 40,000.

We had a feeling that the Arks of Omen event was going to really push the story forward. Now we know that we’re getting 3 new books packed full of lore in the Arks of Omen series.

Abaddon has teamed up with Vashtorr to create these Arks of Omen to “recover something.” We’re assuming that something is probably not going to be good for the Imperium. This new plot apparently involves the unleashed Daemon Prince Primarch Angron, too. You know that means it’s about to be a blood bath.

We also get our first look at the table of contents. Interesting, there is a rules section. However, the Rules aren’t for Matched Play — these are for Boarding Actions. It’s about taking your games and exploring these new Arks of Omen with Boarding Actions in close confines.

Expect a lot of close-quarters engagements in claustrophobic corridors of pain!

We also have a look at a new Roadmap for Arks of Omen and 40k as well:

We’re a little confused about the Roadmap here. But it seems like this is specific to the Arks of Omen as the World Eaters codex is probably going to come out first. We hope. In the meantime, this does take us into the Spring of 2023. So at least we know there is a direction that 40k is heading (narratively at least). We also have a 4th book in the series that’s been redacted by the Ordo Xenos. Curiously it’s not the Ordo Malleus which is the branch that often deals with threats of the daemonic nature. Perhaps that’s a BIG clue as to a different sort of player in this galactic game.

The Balefleets are on the move.
