The One D&D Cleric Survey opens up today. And, we know how WotC is going to take your feedback. Let’s take a look.

It’s that time once again. Now that the latest playtest packet has been out in the wild — and just in time for the holiday break — the One D&D Cleric survey is here. And with it, your chance to shape the future of the next generation of D&D.

Especially since, in a recent video, WotC has shared exactly how they take everyone’s feedback into account. If you want to see something changed, removed, or approved as is, here’s what you need to know.

How WotC Reads Your Survey

In the video linked above, Jeremy Crawford explains how Wizards of the Coast analyzes the results of each and every survey. The satisfaction scores, the comments, all of it go into some very specific criteria. You can watch the video above for the full breakdown, but in a nutshell, here’s how WotC looks at the results:

  • If something gets an 80% or higher “satisfaction rating” on the survey (which seems to mean “very satisfied” across all the questions, WotC takes it to mean “the community wants exactly that” – very little tinkering needed
  • 70% or higher is the threshold for the community to saying “yes, more of this!” – it’s looking good, but still in need of readjusting
  • 60% range means that WotC considers it salvageable, but in need of serious reconsideration in terms of design.
  • Below 60% is “not likely” to be used
  • 40% or below is just gone

Now, as far as WotC has said, nothing has scored 50% or below yet. A number of things have done quite well, like the free feat for everyone at 1st level. As well as Humans, Dwarves, Orcs, Tieflings, and Elves.

So get that survey filled out!

One D&D Cleric Survey

The survey should be nothing new for now. The same questions about how satisfied you are with each of the features are there. And you’ll, of course, have an opportunity to add in your own commentary (which someone at WotC will read).

As a reminder, the new Cleric got a significant overhaul, including an amazing new 2nd level feature that allows for even more customization without relying on your Domain for whether or not you’re melee or a caster.

On top of that, there are three new species, Dragonborn, Aardling, and Goliaths. Each of these has a variety of options, the Dragonborn is a lot more in line with their predecessors in Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons.

The survey will likely remain open for a while, so take some time to think about your answer. But do leave your feedback and shape the future of D&D!
