The Rumor Engine is teasing a new tool of the trade. Check out this axe and wonder who it belongs to with the rest of us!

Games Workshop is busting out a new Rumor Engine teaser and this one looks pretty clean and well maintained. Not sure what I mean? Take a look for yourself.

“For a moment there, we swear that the Rumour Engine manifested a full image and not some cruel tease of a mystery model yet to come – but we blinked, and this is all that remains.”

So what do we have here? Well, it sure looks like an axe. But this axe also has a flat, hammer side and also is covered in what looks like a nice holster to keep it safe from the elements. This axe is seems like a workman’s tool to me although it could still be used as a tool of war. The next question is “who’s axe is this?”

Personally, I’m getting serious Leagues of Votann vibes from this one. First up, we’ve seen them wrap their tools in a similar style holster. The strap seems similiar an also the studs on the leather holster stand out. Next up, we know the Leagues of Votann use workmen’s tools because of their prospecting nature.

But the real give away is the handle on the axe. I mean, look at this comparison:

I’m not saying it’s 100% Leagues of Votann, but c’mon. It’s gotta be something Imperial or Imperial adjacent then, right? Does this mean we’re going to see more Votann Units and a possible codex update sometime in the next year? Perhaps. Games Workshop does like to play the long game with these Rumor Engines afterall…

So what do you think? Is this an axe used by the League of Votann or something else entirely? Let us know your theories in the comments!
