I think I need this game injected directly into my bloodstream. Space Marine 2 gameplay looks awesome.

Just watch the trailer and then we can get into it. Oh and turn it up to 4k if you can because…wow.

Space Marine 2 Gameplay Trailer

So this is the much anticipated gameplay trailer for Space Marine 2. While the cinematic trailers are always pretty, personally, I want the gameplay trailers more. I want to know what the actual game is going to look and play like. This one did not disappoint.

The visuals are crisp and spicy. But that’s kind of expected for this game, right? But we’ve seen static shots of Titus standing around already. Now we get a look at the combat…

There’s a bunch of weapons and things you might expect. Above you can see the aftershocks of a Thunder Hammer getting dropped on a horde of Hormagaunts. The blood eruption is impressive and the gore factor is going to be there.

Here’s a look at the after effects of a Meltagun blast. I’m a little surprised the Tyranid Warrior is still standing. I’m also pleased to see the Meltagun still functions similiar to a shotgun-style weapon. That’s a call back to Space Marine 1. Also note that this is still a Third-Person Shooter/Slasher as well.

There’s also a really cool sequence of slashing/combo attacking with a chainsword that ends in a massive stomp that sends enemies flying. Again, lots of visceral gore and combat is coming!

Here’s a look at ADSing with a Bolt Rifle. I will also point out that this is after Titus used a Jump Pack to get airborne and fire at these Tyranids. I’m actually REALLY curious about that Jump Pack because Titus is now a Primaris Marine and he’s not exactly wearing the typical Jump Pack rig of an Inceptor.

Here’s a better look at it. The Jump Pack looks a little bit smaller than an Inceptor’s rig and it doesn’t have the same foot support:

Perhaps it’s a Vanguard Suppressor setup — but the feet don’t look exactly the same.

Anyhow, Titus is still going to get some airborne gameplay in Space Marine II.

Here’s another look at Titus taking on a horde of Tyranids solo. It’s a really cool shot that shows the scale of things, too. I’m impressed with the background and the fact that it looks like you can walk around in these overrun environments while fighting waves of Tyranids.

Here’s another great shot of the Tyranids going on the attack. It’s a Warrior leaping after Titus in a follow-up as Titus had just dodged backwards. Note how the Hormagaunts appear to be supporting the larger Warrior. It’s almost like they are working synaptically together or something…

I’m not quite sure I understand why this standoff is happening but it looks pretty awesome.

The gameplay trailer did not disappoint! Now we just have to wait for the game to actually come out sometime in 2023.

Yeah…I’m gonna need this one.
