The Grimdark is heating up and GW is teasing a bunch of new minis coming our way in 2023. Can you ID them?

2022 is coming to an end and wow what a year it was. Squats returned, and World Eaters are on the way! We are now about to start into Arks of Omen, and It doesn’t look like GW plans on slowing down in 2023. Take a look at this teaser video and see if you can figure out what’s coming:

The Big Ones

First up, we get the big ones that are known. We get Vashtoff the Arkifane, Commander Azrael, and Angron.

The bid villain from Arks of Omen looks mighty evil and chaosy – ready to do a deal with Abaddon.

I wonder if the Watchers of the Dark helped Azrael cross the Rubicon, or at least held the surgical instruments – ominously?

At long last, Angron. He’s big, and he’s angry. Nuff said.

The Mini Mysteries

Next, we get to the 5 mystery minis. Look sharp. Here are our best bets on what is headed our way next year:

OK, this clearly looks Drukhari, and hey – he’s got a bird! So this is probably a special character. There’s also a chance this a further fleshing out of that new Craftworld corsair Anhrathe subfaction.

Now this guy’s interesting. It looks like a human with medium armor holding a riot shield, and a melee weapon. So perhaps a new IG, or Inquisitorial melee unit.  There’s a longshot this could be related to Adeptus Arbites, or maybe even Sororitas allies.

This one looks like an Ork to me with the hulking upper body and wielding two blades. Possibly something Kommando related?

This one has me stumped. The legs and lower body scream T’au, but the arms are wilding dual blades! It doesn’t match the graceful lines of Aeldari, so perhaps something Sororitas, or Ad-Mech who also use lots of walkers? Or hey, maybe there’s a new T’au melee Commander out there to keep Farsight and Shadowsun company. Longshot is maybe something Custodes, or Votann?

Last but not least – this obvious Primaris Marine. There have been whispers for almost a year that 10th Edition would include another wave of Primaris Marines to round out the last holes in the range. A replacement for Devastators with real heavy weapons was one of the units mentioned and this guy seems like a perfect match.
