Age of Sigmar: ‘Vanguard – Slave To Darkness’ Box Pricing Breakdown

This one kind of snuck up on us. What sort of deal will the Vanguard: Slaves to Darkness box be? Price check, please?!

Everyone loves a good deal, right? Well the Slaves to Darkness are getting a new Vanguard box for pre-order so let’s do some back of the napkin math and find out for sure.

10x Chaos Warriors – $60

Individual MSRP Total: $199

Total Savings: $59

As you can see from the numbers above you’re saving $59. That’s basically the cost of the Chaos Warriors. We figured this boxed set would be a good deal but now we know exactly by how much.

Peat, Repeat, No-Peat?

So, now that we know the cost and we know the contents how do we rate this in terms of an army box? If you’re a new player looking to get into Slaves to Darkness this is already a great starting point. Personally, I’d go with the Gorebeast Chariot over the standard one. But I say that as someone who’s already got 2. Everything in this box has its place in the new Slaves to Darkness army. And the best part is that it’s all generic enough that getting a second box isn’t a bad idea!

This set is a Repeat from us. Get two if you are starting out. 10 Knights, 20 Chaos Warriors, and 2 Chariots is a fantastic place to start. You might not need both Chaos Lords on foot, but that’s okay — it’s still worth the price of admission. Convert one up to be a Chaos Sorcerer and you’re good.

If you’re a veteran player this ones a little harder to justify. The Knights are from the Start Collecting! box and the only true “new” models in there are the Warriors. If you want to expand quick this is a great box for that. Otherwise, just snag some of the Chaos Warriors from the new box and you’re good.

This is another good entry for the Slaves to Darkness range and it’s following in the footsteps of the rest of the Vanguard boxes — and that’s a good thing!
