Warhammer 40K: New FAQ, Points Updates, & Balance Dataslate Out Today
Games Workshop has released a new batch of updates for Warhammer 40,000. There’s a new FAQ, points updates, and a Balance Dataslate out now.
I hope you’re ready to do some studying for your army because Games Workshop has unleashed the Balance Dataslate and a host of changes ahead. We’re going to keep this relatively short and we’ll cover the changes more in depth in the future. But for now, you should probably check out what’s been updated for your army.
Balance Dataslate Changes Ahead

Highlights
- Astra Militarum – Armour of Contempt has been removed
- Adeptus Astartes – Can choose when to advance their Combat Doctrines and objectives remain claimed until an enemy claims them
- Chaos Daemons – Flamers nerfed and no longer auto-hit but now get D6+3 shots with a BS of 3+
- Harlequins – Invulnerable saves nerfed across the board and points remain (mostly) unchanged
- Tyranids – Overrun Stratagem can only be used on core units. Additionally, Spore Mines generated from specific units now cost reinforcement points
- Chaos Space Marines – Creations of Bile now requires a roll of 4+ in order to fight before they are removed to fire off
- Adeptus Custodes – All core infantry are now Objective Secured. Additionally, “limitation on using the Esteemed Amalgam, Emperor’s Auspice and Martial Discretion Stratagems has been removed”
- Necrons – Tweaks to custom Dynasties. Eternal Conquerors cannot also take code from Circumstances of Awakening
- Adeptus Mechanicus – Kataphon Breachers and Destroyers are now core. Every unit with Bionics now has a 5+ invulnerable save.
