The next chapter of the Demon Slayer saga is right around the corner. And even better, it will be heading to theaters!

Demon Slayer is one of the most popular animes out right now. In what seems like no time the series became a huge success with a gigantic following. And more is right around the corner… in theaters!

To the Swordsmith Village

We’ve known for a bit that the next arc of the Demon Slayer saga would come in season three when we visit the Swordsmith Village. Fans will remember the swordsmith as not Tanjiro’s biggest fan as the show’s protagonist has a real knack for losing, destroying, misplacing, or just using his sword as a projectile and never seeing it again.

Tanjiro and co will venture to the Swordsmith Village for a new sword, only to find that the swordsmith has gone missing. And when you live in a world of vengeful demons with superhuman abilities, it’s pretty likely that the swordsmith is in some trouble. Season three will also feature Mitsuri Kanroji, “The Love Hashira” and Muichiro Tokito, “The Mist Hashira.” We haven’t seen much of either of these characters yet. But posters – and manga knowledge – hint that they will play a prominent role in this season. Similarly, Kyojuro Rengoku, “The Flame Hashira,” was a major part of Mugen Train, and Tengen Uzui, “The Sound Hashira,” was heavily featured in the second season.

At this point, we know that season three is looking at an April 2023 premiere. But if you don’t want to wait quite that long, the Demon Slayer crew is coming to a movie theater near you on March 3rd.

In Theaters

Unfortunately, this won’t be like Mugen Train where we get the whole arc in a nearly perfect two-hour cinematic experience. But it still looks pretty darn fun.

Episodes ten and eleven of the last season, Entertainment District Arc, will play in theaters as well as episode one of the Swordsmith Village Arc. All of it will be combined into a feature-length film, remastered in 4K. You can search for tickets near you and finalize your plans for March 3rd here.

About Demon Slayer

Crunchyroll’s official synopsis of the show reads:

After his family is viciously murdered, a kind-hearted boy named Tanjiro Kamado resolves to become a Demon Slayer in hopes of turning his younger sister Nezuko back into a human.

Together with his comrades, Zenitsu and Inosuke, along with one of the top-ranking members of the Demon Slayer Corps, Tengen Uzui, Tanjiro embarks on a mission within the Entertainment District, where they encounter the formidable, high-ranking demons, Daki and Gyutaro.

And while all of that is true, it doesn’t mention the breathtaking animation, the weird-but-loveable characters, and the really beautiful focus on the bond between siblings. It’s one of those great shows that deserves the praise it’s getting. And we can’t wait for more.
