The latest Rumor Engine is showing off a skull on a stick. But it’s not exactly what it sounds like. Come help us solve this new mystery.

It’s the final Rumor Engine for this February and Games Workshop is teasing something interesting. We’ve got a special looking skull. But before we theorize about it you should see it for yourself.

“You know, it’s possible that the Rumour Engine can’t see the future – perhaps it just bends reality to make sure its images become miniatures. We’re going to test this theory by inputting something of our own and seeing if it materialises four to six months down the line.”

Crystalized Skull

Now that you’ve gotten a look at the Rumor Engine, what do you supposes this one is? For starters we have a Skull with other various bones coming out of it. Furthermore, we also have some sort of a shaft coming out of the bottom — this likely means that this is either a mace or staff. I’m leaning towards staff personally but don’t doubt that this could be swung with some impact force.

This kind of reminds me of this Chaos Sorcerer from Shadowspear. However, the skull is more human than uh…goat/daemon. That said it also appears dark. So is it made of some other material besides bone? And look, CSM wasn’t even my initial gut reaction. I’m trying not to be biased here but I think this is more likely from something on the Death side of the Grand Alliances…

You know who builds with bones and uses them to construct things? You know who also has darker colored skulls as options when they are building things? The Ossiarch Bonereapers. I’m totally biased here because I play OBR and have been hoping for some updates. I can’t unsee it now so my guess is tainted so that’s where you come in. If you’ve got some unbiased and objective options I’d love to read them

Personally, I’m also hoping that timeline they said of 4-6 months is also true — at least for an OBR re-release. I want them to get more than a new battletome and if that means they have to skip the Spring battletome release in exchange for a deeper rules rewrite AND more units then I am game for that!

Please be more than just “playable.” Be fun and unique and playable!
