Games Workshop is re-introducing the Bound Daemons of the Ruinstorm for the Horus Heresy with new Exemplary Battles.

In case you missed the initial announcement, the first season of the Exemplary Battles wrapped up. The series featured all 18 of the Space Marine Legions duking it out in various scenarios and stories from the Horus Heresy. This next season is kicking off with a brand new set of battles featuring some of the more esoteric factions. Ya know, like the Bound Daemons of the Ruinstorm!

” We begin with the Bound Daemons of the Ruinstorm, a force that can be taken as allies and summoned right into the thick of things by Traitor forces (especially by their Esoterists). It’s joined by a new narrative scenario, The Burning of Ohmn-Mat, in a free download available right here. Andy from the Warhammer Design Studio is here to explain more.”

Without getting into all the spoilery narrative details, this mission does feature some new and exciting options to try. Obviously, Bound Daemons are going to be a thing.

They have a ton of additional special rules which you’re going to want to check out from the download above. There’s also a slate of datasheets for a few famous daemons you can bind to your service (or at least add to your Horus Heresy Traitor Legion army).

Yeah…you know where this is going! There’s bound versions of Samus, Ka’bandha, a Daemon Regent, and rules for Daemon Brutes.

I think each of those options opens up some fun narrative tracks for your chosen Legion. And if you’re looking for even more you can bet GW isn’t done with these Bound Daemons yet…

“[For The Horus Heresy] we’ll be returning to all things Daemonic with a full army list for the Daemons of the Ruinstorm, representing a full warp breach of Neverborn spilling out of the churning Sea of Souls. There’s more work to do yet – it’s a tricky faction to balance, but we hope to have it ready at some point over the summer.”

YEP! There’s also a PDF  new army list coming for the Imperialis Militia coming. Just in time for all the kitbashing you can dream of with those new Cadian Shock Troopers. Will these imperial reinforcements be enough to curb the warp-tide? It’s going to be a test of Will vs Warp powers this summer for the Horus Heresy!

Here come the Bound Daemons…can you control them?
