Games Workshop has announced new Terminators are coming to Warhammer 40,000. It’s time to bulk up with Tactical Dreadnought armor!

Space Marine Terminators have been around for a long time. Introduced during the Rogue Trader Era the Terminator Armor has been a mainstay in 40k for decades. Over the years it’s been updated and reimagined a few times. And for 10th edition, the Terminators are getting even more size and details to match their relic-armor’s reputation.

“Terminator armour first appeared in 1988 with a unique high-shouldered armour design. However, 1989 was truly the year of the Terminator with several iconic new designs added to the armoury. Issue 112 of White Dwarf laid out the background for this formidable wargear and established the style of Terminator armour we know and love today. The first edition of Space Hulk was released a mere month later, cementing that age-old rivalry with Genestealers.”

The New Space Marine Terminator

Here’s our first look at the entire squad together, complete with Teleport Homer. They certainly look imposing! I appreciate that Games Workshop has touched up on the proportions and made them a bit more upright with slightly longer legs. I’m sure we’ve all seen the memes about the Terminator’s neck and back problems.

It’s an older edition but it checks out.

Anyhow, these new Terminators look good by themselves. But I can’t wait to see them on the tabletop with other miniatures around them.

While I don’t think they will completely dwarf any other units, I think they are going to take up more space on those 40mm bases — and I mean that in a good way. The current plastic kits did a great job of making them much more dynamic than their old metal kits. But these new versions look like they fill the volume of that 40mm with more physical bulk than extending the action poses.

Personally, I really am looking forward to these new models and I’m also super curious what this could mean for all the other Terminator variants out there. The Chaos Terminators got a fairly recent kit, too. I’m wondering if and when we’ll see bulked-up versions of them along with Wolf Guard and Deathwing (although both of those could be done with a conversion sprue or two).

I’m also wondering how long until we see Games Workshop pair these new Terminators up against their iconic rivals in a Space Hulk once again…

Countdown to a new Space Hulk? It’s been a while…

What do you think of the new Terminators?
