Commander Dante of the Blood Angels has finally made the leap to Primaris Marine. Here comes the Sanguinary Host in all it’s golden glory!

One of the characters that we here at BoLS have been waiting to see get the Primaris Treatment pretty much since Space Marine Characters started undergoing the Primaris procedure has been Commander Dante. Well, it’s finally happened! The Chapter Master of the Blood Angels has gotten his glow-up and now comes in Primaris Size.

“The Day of Revelation has come a little earlier than expected, so eager is Dante to smite the enemies of the Imperium – but luckily for the Lord of Angels, the master artificers of the Blood Angels are at the top of their game. He now sports an up-to-the-minute suit of modified Mark X armour, wrought in his inimitable gold.”

Primaris Commander Dante

As you can see from the model above Dante has bulked-up. He’s got a new model and a nod to his old pose. He’s even got basically the exact same wargear you’ve come to expect from this golden-gilded Blood Angel.

His jump-pack made the transition to Primaris gear which is a nice upgrade as well. Plus, he’s got a new tabard — probably to help clean the blood off his armor when he’s finished. This is certainly a size upgrade for him!

Looking at this model, while I do like it, Primaris Dante feels a bit too similar to his old model. I’m not sure what I was expecting/hoping for to be perfectly honest. But I do feel like Dante’s Primaris form is missing something.

Maybe it’s the wings? The Sanguinary Guard have those angel wings and maybe it’s because those models were based on the old Dante — with more options and wings — but his might be what I was thinking/expecting with a Primaris Dante. On the plus side, converting Dante to have them shouldn’t be too crazy. There’s also one other conversion I wouldn’t mind seeing/testing out just to see if it would work…

The wings off the Celestant Prime might be a bit too big but they might work…that’s why I’d want to test fit them first.

In any case, Commander Dante’s back in Primaris form. I wonder if this has anything to do with the Tyranid sighting we had. Based on the video, sure seems like the Battle for Baal isn’t over just yet!

One more big named character has made the jump to Primaris…who’s next?
